Constructed in 1930, Green Hall houses many of The College of New Jersey’s administrative offices, including the President’s Office. The building consists of one level below grade and two levels above grade. Green Hall has a brick exterior with a limestone water table, built-in copper gutters, granite entrance steps and wooden single-glazed double-hung windows and a large Clock Tower.
TBS Services, Inc. was engaged by the College to investigate the building envelope and water infiltration issues, determine the cause(s) of the deficiencies, recommend solutions, and provide design, bidding and construction administration services for the building envelope remediation at Green Hall.
The scope of the work included replacement of the steep-slope shingle and portions of low-slope roof systems, new storm water collection systems (i.e. gutters and downspouts), replacement of the below grade storm water piping system, replacement of bay windows and curved bell-shaped metal roofs, replacement of all storm windows, plaza waterproofing at entrance stairs and landings, restoration and coating of decorative copper cornice work/trim and the clock tower, and miscellaneous masonry wall repairs (i.e. repointing and stone repair/restoration).
