PACKER HALL
THE COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY

Packer Hall
Ewing, NJ

Originally built in 1932, with additions in 1961 and 1984, Packer Hall houses the health and physical education program, and also includes a 25- meter swimming and diving pool. The building roof, approximately 61,200 SF has several different sections and levels to it including multiple areas of low-slope membrane roofs and steep-sloped shingle roofs.

TBS Services, Inc. assisted TCNJ, through several projects/phases with the building envelope water infiltration issues. We performed an investigation/assessment of the building envelope components including issues at all the building roof systems and levels and the exterior masonry walls to determine the cause(s) of deficiencies and recommend solutions. TBS also teamed with Trefz Engineering, Inc. to perform an evaluation/analysis of the buildings mechanical systems at the pool in conjunction with the building envelope water infiltration investigation, from which our findings and recommendations will form the basis of the scope of work for a future renovation of the building mechanical systems.

TBS recently provided design, bidding and construction administration services for the Roof Replacement and Misc. Exterior Repairs Project at Packer Hall which included the replacement of approximately 8,000sq.ft. of low-slope roof systems and miscellaneous repairs of masonry wall systems, and skylight systems. More recently, TBS has prepared the design and documentation of the replacement of 13,500sq.ft. of steep-slope shingle and low-slope roof systems.
